The objective of this thesis is to develop a data aggregation protocol for vehicular networks. The intention of the protocol is to aggregate raw data from individual nodes into an aggregated result, which can reflect network properties or answer a query from a node. There are several data aggregation protocols proposed for wireless sensor networks. However, these strategies are not suitable for vehicular networks due to the high mobility of vehicles and very large network scale. Therefore, we propose a location-based data aggregation strategy, which is efficient for large-scale networks and robust against high mobility. | |
